Sherkin Ferries, Baltimore - Sherkin Island

Der Fischerort Baltimore ist von etwa 50 Inseln umrundet. Am Montag war der Himmel blau und ich entschied einen Ausflug auf die Insel Sherkin zu unternehmen... Da die Tage im Sommer lang sind (-22 Uhr) und nachmittags meist etwas wärmer ist, nahm ich die 15 Uhr 15 Fähre in Baltimore. Fast stündlich fährt die Sherkin Ferries (https://www.sherkinferry.ie) 10 Minuten hin und dann wieder 10 Minuten zurück.

The fishing town of Baltimore is surrounded by around 50 islands. On Monday the skies were blue and I decided to take a trip to Sherkin Island... Since summer days are long (-10 pm) and afternoons are usually a little warmer, I took the 3:15 pm ferry from Baltimore. Sherkin Ferries (https://www.sherkinferry.ie) runs almost hourly 10 minutes there and then 10 minutes back.

Folglich befand ich mich 10 Minuten später auf der Insel Sherkin. Zu Fuss wanderte ich einen Teil der Insel ab und sass 1 Stunde (wie die Iren) fast nackt an einem windstillen Ort an der Sonne! : )

Consequently, 10 minutes later I found myself on Sherkin Island. I hiked part of the island on foot and sat almost naked (like the Irish) in a windless place in the sun for 1 hour! : )

Beacon Point, Baltimore

Der Beacon Point ist ein sehr auffallendes Monument… und nicht weit von Baltimore… Als ich um halb 8 zurück in Baltimore war, machte ich mich gleich auf zum Beacon Point: Ein weiss gestrichenes Leuchtfeuer, das etwa um 1800 erbaut wurde!

Beacon Point is a very striking monument... and not far from Baltimore... When I got back to Baltimore at 7:30 pm, I headed straight to Beacon Point: a white painted beacon built circa 1800!
