Mein
letzter Tag in Arnedillo, Spanien, begann wie die letzten 10 hier: Tee,
Espresso und Duolingo zum Aufwachen und anschliessend einen 10-minütigen
Spaziergang dem Cidacos entlang zu den Pozas de Arnedillo. Diese heissen
Quellen vermischen sich mit dem Flusswasser zu perfekten Temperaturen, so dass
man am liebsten gar nicht mehr raus will… aber das musste ich heute, denn ich
hatte ein Programm…
My last day in Arnedillo, Spain, started like the last 10 here: Tea, espresso and Duolingo to wake up and thereafter a 10 minute walk along the Cidacos to the Pozas de Arnedillo. These hot springs mix with the river water to perfect temperatures that you don't want to get out anymore... but today I had to because I had a programme...

Uhr fuhr ich los: 2 ½ Stunden und 250 km zum Hafen Bilbao. Als ich dort ankam, sah
ich in meinem Cockpit, dass ich 20'000 km hinter mich gelegt hatte, seit ich am
4.4.2022 die Schweiz verliess… Am Hafen kaufte ich am Brittany Ferries (https://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk)
Schalter für rund EUR 500 ein Ticket mit Auto und Kabine nach Rosslare, Irland.
Es war zwar noch keine Ferienzeit, aber die Fähre war gut gebucht – und ich
hatte Platz! : )
At 1:30 pm I left: 2 ½ hours and 250 km to the port of Bilbao. When I got there, I noticed on my cockpit that I had covered 20,000 km since I left Switzerland on 4.4.2022... At the port I bought a ticket at the Brittany Ferries counter (https://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk) for around EUR 500 (cabin and car) to Rosslare, Ireland. It wasn't holiday season yet, but the ferry was well booked - and I found my place! : )

Am 1.
Juni pünktlich um 18 Uhr legte die Fähre in Bilbao ab: Sie würde die 1500 km in
28 Stunden schaffen – also viel Zeit, um es mir gemütlich zu machen… und zu
entspannen, denn Internet funktionierte während der Überfahrt gar nicht und das
der Fähre war zu langsam als dass es zum Arbeiten brauchbar war.
On June 1st, at 6 pm sharp, the ferry left Bilbao: It would cover the 1500 km in 28 hours - so plenty of time to make myself comfortable... and relax, because the internet didn't work at all during the crossing and the one of the ferry was too slow to be useful for working.

Am 2.
Juni um 21:15 legte die Brittany Ferries in Rosslare, Irland an, bis ich aber
an Land war, war es 22 Uhr. Zum Glück ist es hier lange hell, aber
unglücklicherweise war ein nationaler Feiertag: Bank Holiday – und das bei
super Wetter! Das heisst: Alle Iren feiern irgendwo und fast alle Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten
sind ausgebucht und oder deshalb schweinisch teuer!? Das war auch der Grund, weshalb
ich nichts im Voraus gebucht hatte… ich dachte echt, ich irrte mich mit den
irischen Preisen!?
Genau vor
20 Jahren umrundete ich Irland mit meiner Tochter, nur hatten wir fast nur
Regen und verkürzten unsere 5- auf eine 4-wöchige Reise… Diesmal hatte ich besseres
Wetter bestellt, um die grüne Insel mit Sonnenschein zu entdecken. Damals war
es sehr einfach zu reisen, denn es hatte sehr viele B&B… das hat es heute
immer noch und so beschloss ich mein Glück zu versuchen…
On June 2nd at 9:15 pm Brittany Ferries docked at Rosslare, Ireland, but by the time I got ashore it was 10 pm. Luckily it is light here for a long time, but unfortunately it was a national holiday: Bank Holiday – and this with great weather! That means: All Irish people celebrate somewhere and almost all accommodations are fully booked and or therefore ridiculously expensive!? That's why I hadn't booked anything in advance... I honestly thought I was wrong about the Irish prices!?
Exactly 20 years ago I circumnavigated Ireland with my daughter, but there was nothing but rain and we shortened our 5-week trip to a 4... This time I had ordered better weather to discover the green island with sunshine. It was very easy to travel back then because there were so many B&Bs... there still are today so I decided to try my luck...

Viele
Türen und 1 ½ Stunden später öffnete Anne ihre Tür und gab mir ein Zimmer in
ihrem B&B Roselawn (+353 53 915 8910) in
Killinick. : ) Gerade noch vor Mitternacht hatte ich Unterschlupf gefunden und
konnte mich entspannt dem Bett übergeben! : )

Many doors and an hour and a half later, Anne opened her door and gave
me a room at her Roselawn B&B (+353 53 915 8910) in Killinick. : ) Just before midnight I had
found shelter and was able to surrender and relax in a bed! : )
