Ich hatte
einen Schock, als ich das Chlor im Leitungswasser in Irland roch! Das hatte ich
nicht erwartet und bisher nur im Wasser in Schwimmbädern und Ägypten angetroffen…
Hier hat es tatsächlich 4 mg pro Liter im Leitungswasser - ausser man hat seine
eigene Quelle! Wenn ich also irgendwo zuhause war, wo es eine gute Wasserquelle
hatte, füllte ich all meine 5 Liter Flaschen und konnte damit meist bis zur
nächsten Auffüllgelegenheit haushalten. : )
I was shocked when I smelled the chlorine in the tap water in Ireland! I wasn't expecting that and so far I've only encountered chlorine in the water of swimming pools and in Egypt... There are actually 4 mg per litre tap water - unless you have your own well! Consequently, when I was home somewhere with a own good water well, I filled all of my 5 litre bottles which usually lasted until my next refill opportunity. : )

In Irland
wird 30% des verbrauchten Plastiks wiederverwertet (https://www.mywaste.ie): Alle wiederverwertbaren
Materialien wie Papier, Karton, Plastik und Metall werden sauber, trocken und
lose (einzeln) im Recyclingbehälter gesammelt und in eines der vielen Waste Service
Locations im Lande gebracht. Dort findet
man neben der Recycling und Abfall Tonne meist auch einen für Glas und einen für
Textilien. Man kann aber auch seine eigenen Tonnen an eine Sammelstelle deponiern
und sie dort vom Waste Service abholen lassen, wie Nic es organisiert hatte. Die
Materialen für die Wiederverwertung werden dann von Hand nach Material
sortiert. Für organischen Abfall werden Tipps bereitgestellt, manchmal wird er
abgeholt und oft selbst zu Kompost für den Eigenverbrauch verarbeitet.
In Ireland 30% of the plastic used is recycled (https://www.mywaste.ie): All recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic and metal are collected clean, dry and loose (individually) in the recycling bin and placed in one of the many Waste Service Locations in the country. In addition to the recycling and waste bin, you can usually also find one for glass and one for textiles. Another possibility is to bring your own bins to a collection point and have them picked up by the Waste Service, as Nic had organized it. The materials for recycling are then sorted by material by hand. Tips are provided for handling organic waste, sometimes it is collected and often processed into compost for home use.

Die
Westküste Irlands ist nicht sehr dicht besiedelt und die Natur hat noch richtig
Platz! : ) Weniger Menschen sind automatisch weniger Idioten… Zudem sind die
Iren meist noch naturverbunden und ökobewusst… deshalb fühle ich mich auch wohl
in diesem Land! : ))
The west coast of Ireland is not very densely populated and there is still plenty of space for nature! : ) Fewer people automatically mean fewer idiots... In addition, the Irish are mostly still down to earth and close to nature and eco-conscious... that's why I feel comfortable in this country! : ))

Meine
letzten Tage in Baltimore bei Nic und seinen Kindern Josh, Charlotte und Toby (wenn
sie da waren) wurden vom Sommer bestimmt… ich verbrachte so viel Zeit wie
möglich draussen mit Jogging am Lough Hyne (inklusive Sprung ist kalte Wasser),
Wandern, Spaziergängen oder einem kurzen Sonnenbad. Wenn es nicht so gemütlich
war nach draussen zu gehen, organisierte ich meine Weiterreise, arbeitete an
meinem Blog und Fotos und nahm mir Zeit für Yoga mit Kassandra (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX32D3gKXENrhOXdZjWWtMA) sowie Irisch mit Duolingo (https://www.duolingo.com).
My last days in Baltimore with Nic and his children Josh, Charlotte and Toby (when they were there) were dominated by summer... I spent as much time as possible outside with runs at the Lough Hyne (including a jump in the cold water), hikes, walks or a short sunbath. When it wasn't comfortable to go outside, I organized my onward travel, worked on my blog and photos and took time for yoga with Kassandra (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX32D3gKXENrhOXdZjWWtMA) and Irish with Duolingo (https://www.duolingo.com).
