Heute
ging ich nochmals mit Nic (Whale Watch West Cork http://www.whalewatchwestcork.com) aufs Meer, wo wir uns vor 2
Monaten kennen gelernt hatten (https://franziskaaeschbach29.blogspot.com/2023/06/21062023-baltimore-ireland-whale-watch.html): Ich hatte eine Wal und Delfin Beobachtungstour
bei ihm gebucht. Heute war auf der früheren Tour noch ein Platz frei für mich
und so begab ich mich um 9 Uhr zum Hafen in Baltimore. Das Meer war
spiegelglatt und der Himmel stahlblau – was für ein Bilderbuchtag! : )
Today I went out to sea once more with Nic (Whale Watch West Cork http://www.whalewatchwestcork.com), where we met two months ago (https://franziskaaeschbach29.blogspot.com/2023/06/21062023-baltimore-ireland-whale-watch.html): I had booked a dolphin and whale watching tour with him. Today there was a spot available for me on the earlier tour, so I headed to the port in Baltimore at 9 am. The sea was smooth as a mirror and the sky was steel blue – what a picture-perfect day! : )

Kaum
hatten wir den Beacon Point hinter uns, sichteten wir die ersten Delfine… und
davon gab es sehr viele heute, die nur warteten zwischen den Booten spielen zu
können! : ) Nic hatte diesen Monat schon Finnwale gesehen, aber heute blieben
sie aus.
As soon as we had left Beacon Point behind us, we spotted the first dolphins... and there were a lot of them today, just waiting to play between the boats! : ) Nic had already seen fin whales this month, but today they didn't appear.

Um 12 Uhr
liefen wir im Hafen von Cape Clear ein, wo wir an Land gingen und 1 Stunde Zeit
hatten um zu baden, wandern oder ins Café einzukehren. Ich unternahm eine
andere Wanderung als letztes Mal, die mich steil einen Hügel hinaufbrachte, wo mich
ein atemberaubendem Panorama erwartete!
At 12 o'clock we arrived in the harbour of Cape Clear, where we went ashore and had 1 hour to swim, hike or stop at a café. I went on a different hike than last time, which took me steeply up a hill where a breathtaking panorama awaited me!

Eine Stunde später um 13 Uhr
verliessen wir Cape Clear, die südlichste bewohnte Insel Irlands. Nic liess
einen Knaben das Steuer übernehmen, der auf dem Hinweg seekrank wurde und heftig
erbrechen musste… mit diesem Abschluss als Kapitän wird ihm der Ausflug
bestimmt in positiver Erinnerung bleiben!? Nic
versorgte uns unterwegs mit viele Infos, nicht nur in biologischer Hinsicht, und
diese in humorvolle kleine Geschichten verpackt – man merkt: Das ist sein
Leben! : ) Um 14 Uhr waren wir zurück im Hafen von Baltimore, wo bereits die nächsten
Passagiere auf Nic & JJ warteten…

An hour later at 1 pm we left Cape Clear, the southernmost inhabited island in Ireland. Nic let a boy take the wheel, who got seasick on the way and vomited violently... with this qualification as a captain, he definitely will keep positive memories of the trip!? Nic
provided us with a lot of information along the way, not just from a biological
point of view, and packaged it into humorous little stories - you can tell:
This is his life! : ) At 2 pm we were back in the port of Baltimore, where the
next passengers were already waiting for Nic & JJ…
