Heute
hatte ich mit John in Waterford abgemacht – er fuhr mir ein ganzes Stück entgegen,
um uns vor meiner Abreise nach Dublin nochmals zu sehen und mir diese hübsche
Stadt zu zeigen… In der Nacht stand das Wetter auf Sturm und Überschwemmungen
waren angekündigt! Bis ich um 13 Uhr Enniscorthy verliess, war das Schlimmste
vorüber, die Nachwehen aber noch deutlich sichtbar!
Today I had arranged to meet John in Waterford - he drove a long way to meet me before I left for Dublin and to show me this pretty town... During the night the weather was on storm and floods were predicted! By the time I left Enniscorthy at 1 pm the worst was over, but the after pains were still clearly visible!

Etwas
mehr als eine Stunde und 55 km später erreichte ich den vereinbarten Parkplatz
und fuhr von dort mit John in die Stadt. Er hat ein Elektroauto, was ziemliche
Planung für das Auftanken beansprucht – obschon Irland animiert elektrische
Autos zu kaufen, gibt es nur sehr begrenzt Möglichkeiten sie aufzuladen…
Mit Regenjacken
und Schirmen bewaffnet machten wir uns auf einen langen Spaziergang durch
Waterford. Dort hinterliessen nicht nur die Kelten, sondern auch die Wikinger
ihre Spuren… Wie immer hatten wir auf vielen Ebenen vieles auszutauschen,
entflohen dem Hundewetter in ein Café und genossen ein frühes Abendessen im
Kyoto (https://www.kyoto.ie) – ganz fantastisch
japanisch! : )

A little over an hour and 55 km later I reached the agreed parking lot,
from where I drove into town with John. He has an electric car, which requires
quite a bit of planning for refuelling - although Ireland encourages to buy
electric cars, there are very limited places to charge them...
Armed with rain jackets and umbrellas we set out for a long walk through
Waterford. Not only the Celts but also the Vikings left their marks here... As
always we had a lot to exchange on many levels, we escaped the beastly weather into
a café and enjoyed an early dinner at Kyoto (https://www.kyoto.ie)
- fully fantastic Japanese! : )
